Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ship Agency Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in UAE ports, particularly in Sharjah and Fujairah. They will be responsible for managing all vessel-related operations efficiently, ensuring compliance with port regulations, and providing exceptional support to the crew and vessel during port stays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of port calls for vessels, including arrival, stay, and departure in line with client requirements.
- Act as a liaison between the vessel, port authorities, service providers, and local agents to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee documentation, including pre-arrival and departure notices, port clearance, cargo documentation, and immigration formalities.
- Arrange essential services such as pilotage, berth allocation, stevedoring, and bunkering.
- Handle crew changes, medical assistance, provisioning, and any other ad hoc requests from the vessel.
- Monitor and address operational issues promptly to minimize delays and additional costs.
- Ensure compliance with port regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and submit operational reports, cost estimates, and final disbursements to clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Ship Agency Operator in UAE ports, with strong familiarity with Sharjah and Fujairah ports.
- In-depth knowledge of port operations, regulations, and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in handling documentation and paperwork for port clearances and cargo operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond promptly to unexpected situations.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
